With this in mind, and knowing John’s specialisation of Ducati’s in particular, I set about creating a website with the very distinct black and white themes that Ducati website’s generally carry, but also laid it out differently using a top menu bar to help distinguish it from most other Ducati-like websites.  The Reef was used in the background as a tribute to Ducati being the current MotoGP champions, and further helping to represent the fact that John is one of the number one race and track bike preparation technicians in the country

John’s website also makes use of a 3D Flash gallery which I can now supply on a per-website basis lisence

As with all my websites, Google Analytics was installed to help John accurately track his visitors and where they’re coming from, allowing us to find which methods of advertising are working best.

After having their old site active for 3 years without an update, it was no longer drawing in the visitors it was supposed to be doing, and was in need of a vital facelift.

Instead of creating another static website, I have moved over to a blog based website, as a form of advertising to generate new visitors.  This has allowed Kev and Tina to both log on to the website and not only post their financial advice and tips for the world to read, but also update the static pages themselves.

In regards to the design, Kev wanted to move away from the cliché business theme of blues and whites and move towards more a more retro colour pallete, to help convey the message that they’re a local based business and not a massive corporation who doesn’t care about their customers.  With this in mind we decided to go for a cream, brown and green colour pallete, as it also helps convey an eco-friendly message, which ties in nicely with the eco-friendly investment’s Kev now can offer.

In addition to the colour changes, I have re-written the old websites information in the form of “I am” instead of “We are”, to move away from the big business feel again, and reflect the fact that Kev is the only financial advisor you’ll be talking too so he’ll know you personally when you come to him.

The website has been optimised for search engines, and will be re-visited at a later date after Kev and Tina have both made some posts to analyse what people are searching for and how we can improve to rank higher in these searches.

My first event with the new “Bennetts Babes” gang, in conjunction with GP Suzuki for a Rev’It fashion show.

To show their customers the latest 2008 range of Rev’It clothing, GP Suzuki in Grimsby called in Wayne Kershaw (as seen on Men & Motors) to talk their customers around the latest gear and how it is made to protect the wearer in the unfortunate event of a crash.

As well as organising the models for this event, I also did on-site photography and updated the website with the event details.  For their next event I will also be doing more promotional material, so if anyone is in Lincolnshire on the 17th July - head down to the Swallow Inn on the A46 at around 7:30, we’ll have a Bon Jovi tribute band on, another fashion show, competitions for the best presented bikes in class and more!
